A threshold between the visible and the invisible. Liminal transforms the urban space into a territory of transition, where light and shadow reconstruct Puebla’s symbolic origin—a city said to have been traced by angels. Through projected silhouettes, figures emerge from the ground and expand across walls, amplifying their scale until they become monumental. What begins as a minimal gesture becomes an immersive presence that dialogues with historic architecture without physically altering it. The work does not add volume: it adds perception. Each step activates the space. Each shadow reshapes the journey. The visitor does not simply walk the city—they redraw it with light. Here, light does not illuminate… it reveals the threshold.
Luminal proposes an exploration of Puebla’s symbolic identity as the “City of Angels.” Through the interplay of light and shadow, the installation constructs an ethereal atmosphere where angelic forms emerge and dissolve within the space.
The piece does not represent angels in a literal sense, but rather interprets their essence: lightness, transcendence, and intangible presence. Light acts as spiritual matter, generating a contemplative experience that connects the spectator with the city's symbolic and heritage dimensions.
